Hello skiers and riders,

Farwest races are happening today at Alpine Meadows on Blue Trail (or Werner’s Schuss as it is now known).  A light breeze was blowing at the ridge top and temperatures felt cool this morning.  Temperatures ranged from 25 degrees to 31 this morning.  I was underdressed.  Sherwood re-opened today but the High Traverse was closed.  My guess is that the snow was on the crusty side off the High T.  However, I was told the groomed run was smooth and even felt like corn.  We skied Palisades, High Yellow, North Peril, Peter’s Peril, and other north facing slopes that were in good winter condition.  Some of the south facing slopes had a dusting of new snow from last night, but underneath it was rather crusty, slightly frozen, and bumpy.  Stay on the north facing slopes and you should have some good winter skiing.  Groomed runs were all excellent today.  I had no trouble setting an edge while carving, some face arcing turns.

My real estate office has just completed  redesigning our website.  The new site makes it easier to search all neighborhoods in the Truckee and Tahoe areas.  Give it a try and let me know what your think.

Below are a couple of pictures I shot from F Tree on Wednesday.  The mountain looked like mid-winter for a change.

Enjoy your day,
